We are excited to launch our Women's Wellness series with Stephanie Speer, a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor to discuss the value of Mindfulness techniques to calm and comfort the mind.  This webinar is an opportunity to use the practices of mindfulness to bring loving awareness to the ever-shifting landscape of your life, including the ever-shifting landscape of your grief.  In difficult times, we often find ourselves fighting with reality, wanting things to be different, wanting to be rid of the pain, the suffering, and the circumstances, and yet it has been said that when we fight with reality, reality wins. By practicing mindfulness, in ways that are available to us anytime and anywhere, we can experience moments of well-being and calm amidst the turmoil, the uncertainty, and the struggle. During our time together, we will explore and practice mindfulness to discover new ways to meet this moment with an open heart, an open mind, and with loving kindness as a pathway to healing.

As an instructor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Stephanie Speer has been teaching mindfulness practices to individuals and groups of students for over 30 years in the context of 8-week programs, single-session workshops, day-long retreats, and coaching sessions. She received her Master’s in Humanistic Education from Goddard College and completed her MBSR professional training from Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Her professional work and personal life have been informed by 35 years of meditation practice and Buddhist studies.
