Amy Stein, Doctor of Physical Therapy

The Essential Guide to Our Pelvic Health

WHO WE ARE: The W Connection is a national non-profit organization dedicated to widows helping widows rebuild our lives after the life-changing event of losing our life partners. Beyond our sadness and grief, we know first-hand that there are serious challenges and risks that widows face. The W Connection provides our members with a robust set of original programming addressing these risks and challenges, including our physical health.

For decades, health practitioners have employed a stress evaluation tool called The Social Readjustment Stress Scale, which weighs the stress impact of 43 different life events. Also known the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale named for the psychiatrists who designed the test, each life event has a different ‘weight’ score for stress. On a scale of 1 to 100, the only life event that assigns a stress score of 100 is “the loss of a spouse.”

Our Special Women's Health Series is a perfect opportunity for us to extend this education beyond our own community--and we invite our women friends and supporters interested in learning more about improving their own health to join us. This is a wonderful chance for us to extend our passion from Widows Helping Widows to Women Helping Women!

The W Connection is delighted to welcome Dr. Amy Stein as our April Featured Speaker.

Premier physical therapist, founder, and pioneer – Amy is a leading expert at the forefront of treating pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain, specializing in functional manual therapy. Amy has worked with thousands of patients who have developed pelvic floor dysfunction, with stress playing a pivotal role.

NOTE: For the first time, this Wellness Webinar is open to non-members of the W Connection.  There is a $25 suggested donation to the W Connection. All donations support our programs and services helping widows rebuild their lives.

In addition to being the founder and premier practioner at Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, Amy has served as the President – and is currently on the Advisory Board – of the International Pelvic Pain Society. Her award-winning books and videos help people heal from pain, improve function, and take back their lives. She is a tireless educator and advocate, working closely with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers everywhere to raise access and awareness, so more people get the care they need.
