“The Gift of Healing and Community” Dining Experience

HELP US RAISE AWARENESS AND FUNDS for the W Connection, a national non-profit community dedicated to healing the far-reaching consequences of loss.

About The W Connection: The W Connection was founded 15 years ago with the simple yet challenging goal of widows helping widows rebuild their lives after the loss of their life partners.

• There are 11.8 million widows in the United States, almost 4 times the number of widowers.
• Each year, more than 700,000 new widows in the United States are faced with navigating an uncertain and high-risk future.
• Losing a spouse or partner is a profound life-changing event impacting a widow’s physical, emotional, social, and financial health. For widows with young children, the path is even more complex.
• Beyond conventional grief counseling, there are very few resources for widows.
• The W Connection fills a crucial gap in a widow’s recovery. Our programs are created and facilitated by widows for widows, offering meaningful support, education, empowerment, and hope.
• The W Connection is a courageous community of women of all ages, all backgrounds, and all stages of widowhood.

About Chef Kevin Tien: Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Chef Tien started working in the corporate world after receiving his Master's degree in Statistical Analysis and Business Analytics from Louisiana State University.  Early on, however, his passion for food and service led him to a career change which placed him on a culinary path in 2009.  After working in various restaurants in Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, DC, Kevin now owns several restaurants in the DC area including Moon Rabbit, Himitsu, Hot Lola's, and Doki Doki.  In addition, Chef Tien became a James Beard Finalist earlier in 2024.    

In honor of our 15^th anniversary, we are thrilled that Chef Kevin Tien is hosting this “Gift of Healing and Community” dining experience for The W Connection at Moon Rabbit DC.

Where: Moon Rabbit, 927 F Street NW, Washington, DC

When: Sunday, November 17, 2024, 4:00 pm -7:00 pm.

Why: To raise awareness and funds for the W Connection.

Ticket Price: $250 per person.

 The fair market value of $125 includes goods and services for the evening and the remaining $125, a donation to the W Connection, could be a tax deduction.
