Our topic this month is: "Fostering Resilience After Loss"

The American Psychiatric Association defines resilience as the process of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences by altering behaviors, thoughts, and actions --skills that you can learn.

There’s no playbook for grief. But time and again, we’ve seen our members grow through grief --by building connections, fostering wellness, practicing healthy thinking, taking control, finding purpose or meaning, and seeking support when needed.

About me:  I am a military mom and a former public school middle & high school teacher. Now full-time volunteer staff at the W Connection including: Online Topic Facilitator, W Chat Host, First Connect Leader, Training and Topic Development. I left the Philly area three years ago for a life with family in Colorado.

Interests: Hiking in the Rockies, snowshoeing, gardening, reading, music, theater.

Works well with: Working moms, empty nesters, people with a passion for outdoors.
