Sharing a meal means to eat together, and to participate in a meal with others, whether it's with family, friends, or a group. It's an act that symbolizes connection, community, and a shared experience, often fostering stronger bonds and positive emotions.

Sharing a meal goes beyond just consuming food; it's a way to create social connection and strengthen relationships. It's a tradition that exists across cultures and social groups, highlighting its importance in human interaction.  

We hope that these virtual gatherings will help you build your community inside and outside of The W Connection.

2) Bring Food or Bevereage to the meeting.  Join W Members for a chat while enjoying your dinner, dessert, or snacks. and the beverage of your choice.

TABLE TALK

These events will be social events while embracing and discussing challenges faced by widows in casual and open discussions.  

This is a 3-month pilot program developed based on feedback in the community and initiated by your dining hosts.

THEMES

Theme: June 2025 - Eating for Widows - Changes, Challenges, Strategies
For all widows (especially new ones) eating alone is a loaded topic. The empty chair across the table or the end of dinner dates can cause some women to stop cooking, lose their appetite, or eat poorly. Another issue is learning how to dine out, either alone, or with others, especially with couples.

Theme: July 2025 - Importance of hobbies, interests, and activities in rebuilding our lives

Hobbies/interests/activities that have helped members adapt, change, or grow as part of their journey as widows. Hobbies can be healing and empowering, both necessary for all widows, no matter where they are on their journey. They can also help widows in creating their new identity.

A talk about a favorite, book, movie, vacation...or memory of our partner.... wherever the conversation goes.....

This is a rain or shine event.  This is the great thing about being indoors on Zoom.
